Maiantaince of infrastructure is a costly and time consuming activity. The ability of drones to rapidly capture data from locations that are difficult or dangerous to access make them an ideal tool. As drone technology and optics have improved this has allowed us to maintain a safe distance from critical infrastructure while increasing the detail and resolution of our final products.

Building a 3D model from images acquired by drone of a newly constructed section of rail road track allows engineers to inspect the work, make measurements and identify any issues that may need to be addressed. This is just one example of how aerial imagery can be used to improve construction processes.
Bridges
As our infrastructure ages there is an urgent need to gather accurate information on the state of these assets to prioritize repairs and upgrades. Bridges are particularly difficult and dangerous to inspect safely. The use of drones can vastly improve access to areas of spans that are not usually accessible and reduce inspection costs.
